The Brave One Reel Review
Starring Jodie Foster who plays a radio host in New York, whose life is turned around in one night. After ordering their wedding invitations and heading out for a walk to the park with their German Sheppard, Foster and her Fiance get beaten, mugged and have their dog stolen. After awaking in the hospital she is jolted with questions from the police on what happened, but all she cares about is missing her Fiance’s funeral and never getting a chance to say goodbye. She tries to carry on with her life but she just can’t get over what happened to her. The police don’t seem to be trying and she’s getting frustrated with no results. She buys a gun for protection after fearing to go outside. During a visit to the a local convenient store, she witnesses a man shoot his wife, who is the manager of the store, and rob the till. He hears Foster’s cell phone ring and hunts her down in the store, but in defense she shoots him before he gets the chance. Being in shock she cleans up all the evidence of her being in the store and quickly leaves. Feeling a little bad, but better she took care of someone like that, she soon turns vigilante and goes on a rampage cleaning up New York. While no one expects a woman to be doing these things and being so good at cleaning up her mess, she gets away with a lot. She starts to plan the revenge of her Fiance and get her dog back, and nothing will stop her now that she’s a pro.
5 out of 5
I thoroughly loved this movie threw and threw. I think anyone can relate to the pain she must have gone threw and the anger she had with the police. The movie shows how quickly your life can go from picture perfect to hell and how different paths you choose can mold who you will become. This is a great movie for anyone that’s into getting revenge. There is obviously some violence, nudity and foul language, but it’s all true to the feel and make of the movie.
